The West Midlands has long been recognised as a powerhouse of UK manufacturing. With a rich industrial heritage and a modern reputation for innovation, the region is home to world-leading businesses in automotive, aerospace, advanced engineering, and cutting-edge technologies.
However, this won't always be the case if we can't secure the next generation of engineers and manufacturers. With a widening skills gap and manufacturers struggling to access and retain new talent, it's never been more important to show young people the exciting and rewarding career paths that manufacturing in the West Midlands can offer.
The event is your opportunity to showcase your business and influence young minds - whether it's through interactive displays, showing off your products or wowing them with your plans for future innovation
It's a phrase we hear time and time again when talking about young people and their future careers. In manufacturing and engineering - an industry filled with innovation, opportunity and growth - too many students simply don't know what's out there.
No wonder we have a skills shortage!
Get involved - as an exhibitor or sponsor - and help us to inspire the next generation through interactive, hands-on displays that bring the world of engineering and manufacturing to life.
Together we can close the skills gap and build a more inclusive, accessible future for our manufacturing industry in the West Midlands.
Join our Manufacturing Festival and help students see the real people behind the industry. A few hours of your time could spark a future career.
Get involved today - because you might just be the reason a young person says, "That's who I want to be."

The recent launch event for the West Midlands Manufacturing Festival drew a packed audience of industry leaders, educators and aspiring engineers to Aston University's Engineering Academy, for an evening focused on collaboration, skills development and the future of the manufacturing sector.
With Aston University generously providing the venue and hospitality, the event showcased why cross-sector partnerships are vital to tackling the skills gap. Festival sponsors Enginuity, Wagstaff Recruitment, Vanguard Foundry and Next Gen Makers joined a variety of speakers on the stage, sharing their perspectives on workforce development, emerging talent pipelines and the changing expectations of young people entering manufacturing careers.
Aston University students provided a standout moment of the evening, taking to the stage to discuss their enthusiasm for engineering and what manufacturers can do to inspire the next generation.
Director of Engineering, Karen Byng, also led a lively discussion on how academies such as Aston University Engineering Academy can accelerate real-world projects for manufacturers while giving learners essential hands-on experience.
Expertly hosted by Engineers Insight Co-Founder, Tom Flude, the event underscored an important message: that the clock is ticking for the manufacturing sector, but when innovators, educators and manufacturers work together, the skills gap can be overcome.
